Visit beautiful and peaceful Yasodhara Ashram, Canada's oldest yoga retreat and study centre, right on the shore of Kootenay Lake. Enjoy a self-guided tour or arrive for a scheduled guided tour at 1 pm.
Hours for self-guided tours – 9 am to 6 pm
Guided tour August 12 and 13 – 1 pm
Come and view the world-class architecture of our newly rebuilt Temple of Light. Experience the vibration of peace and stillness in this sacred space, open to all.
Your tour can also include our historic Beach Prayer Room. Walking around the large property, you will also visit our extensive organic gardens and orchard and learn about our environmental initiatives. View our classroom and meeting spaces as you understand the personal development opportunities we offer including a range of courses, retreats and service/study programs. You can also stay for lunch or dinner (for a fee) and visit our Gift Store.
Founded by Swami Sivananda Radha, a pioneer in bringing yoga to the West, the Ashram's leadership is passed through women. Built on more than 50 years of experience in the Kootenays, Yasodhara Ashram stands as a beacon of hope for peace, a healthy future, a better world.
