Abstract Acrylic; Colourful; Painting
I am a Winlaw artist, inspired by the Slocan Valley and the beauty that surrounds me daily. I have been mainly a landscape painter until recently. I am now leaning towards abstract. My newest series is called "Winged Ones" and you can see the progression in my works from realist to abstract. My goal is to become a true abstract painter. Most of my art is done in fluid acrylics, which often gives the work the appearance of a watercolour painting.
Each of my paintings consists of many, many layers of paint and various gels and grounds in order to create textures and mystery, unique to each piece of work. I am so fortunate to have been helped along this abstract adventure by attending workshops from Ted Wallace, Blu Smith and Barry Rafuse, all very talented BC artists.
I will also be doing a demo each day with alcohol-based inks, which make beautiful colours and patterns on any non-absorbent surface, and more experienced artists alike.
Stop by and visit all the various artists who will be exhibiting during the Culture Tour. This is a great chance to see a wide variety of art all in one convenient location.
