Forestscapes; Inspirational writings; Paintings
Come and find me again this year at Crescent Valley Hall (1385 Hwy. 6, just up from the junction at Hwy. 3A), with a whole bunch of other incredibly talented artist members of the Slocan Valley Arts Council.
For the last couple of years I've been showing the progress made on my book project and I'm so happy now to be able to present to you the finished product:
SYLVAN REFLECTIONS: Wanderings, Paintings and Ponderings From the Forest.
A beautiful book of images and writings about the inspiration found in the forest.
I have a daily practice of walking in the woods, and so often I'm stopped in my tracks, struck with awe at the beauty that I see there and am called to share, to get it out of me and down onto canvas in a painting. A few years ago I began to write as well, to share the inspirations behind the paintings, and then more writing began to flow, sharings of other forest experiences such as encounters with animals, mindfulness musings etc. and before I knew it a book was taking shape!
For the Culture Tour I will have my original oil paintings on display and the finished books will be available for sale, along with cards and prints.
My heartfelt thanks go to Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance, Slocan Valley Community Arts Council and Columbia Basin Trust for their financial support.
