Named "one of the best 12 buildings in BC" by the Architecture Foundation of BC, the award-winning historic Langham building is home to two art galleries for professional and emerging artists, a Japanese Canadian museum, and an intimate 80-seat theatre. The Langham Cultural Society is a not-for-profit charitable organization that over the last 42 years has provided high-quality arts, culture and heritage programs and events for the North Kootenay Lake community and surrounding region.

Langham Asian Series presents a weekend workshop and demonstrations in Indigo, Shibori, and Sashiko, traditional Japanese textile dyeing with natural indigo plant dyes and folk embroidery with master textile designer, Seathra Bell. This two-day workshop during the Columbia Basin Culture Tour includes ongoing demonstrations for the public. A special viewing of Japanese Shibori and Indigo films will be screened continuously from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Langham Theatre on Sunday August 13.

In the Main Gallery: Tim Moore – "A Day at the Races" July 7 – Sept. 3.Tim utilizes the analogy of a horse race, along with the Dadaist techniques of collage and assemblage to examine his indigenous ancestry, Metis identity and contemporary indigenous issues. In the Community Gallery (pending funding): Tim Moore Youth Art Project: Polaroid camera photography will be utilized along with elements of collage, mark-making and text in a youth workshop and art exhibit.
