Under swirling complexity, there are patterns of order. Despite cultural diversity, art can still lead us to what is most basic to the human condition. I like to grab an idea & wrestle it to visibility, hence much of my work is in series. Where power comes from, the natural world, and the general "why?" behind the world's many "whats?" - these are my inspirations. My material, cloth, is a part of our most intimate lives. It can cover, reveal, enhance or disguise. Rich in texture & colour of its own, it can be worked with the simplest of tools to dazzling complexity. In expressing my art, I honour the craft of the object well made.
