Artel Studios is operated by Elly Scheepens. She has been a potter for many years from her home studio in New Denver. Most of her work is wheel thrown, creative, unique, but functional and available at the studio store. Her first love has always been sculpture, although formally trained in Europe and Canada in both disciplines. Since 2007 Elly has been sculpting 333 miniature goddess sculptures to be given away during an organized Quest for the Goddess between New Denver, Kaslo and Nelson, starting Sunday July 25, 2010. Each sculpture has been carefully photographed in a natural setting by Virginia Boyd. Then each piece is named and accompanied by an inspiring message before being hidden in the forest to be found by the general public. Finders keepers.
