I am looking forward to opening my studio and property to share 35 years of paintings, drawings and sketchbooks interspersed with historical information about our Mountain Station neighbourhood. Your visit will include a preview of my new series Garden Gnomes and Fountain Gowns. I am best known for my large, colourful, gestural oil and acrylic paintings. I am inspired by nature and usually include an active figurative element. My involvement with the Animal Rights movement grew to an interest in environmental issues which stirred me to create images to illustrate humankind's precarious connections to the natural world. I arrived in Nelson from Montreal under a full moon with six large oil paintings rolled up in a ski bag. I met my husband in the first week and eventually married and settled in the Kootenays. As a young woman I graduated from Queen's University B.F.A. honours program and exhibited in Kingston, Toronto and Montreal.
