Some participants’ feedback from last year:

The tour afforded an excuse to e-mail a list of friends and prospective clients and to offer a preview or post Tour hospitality. Even when people can't or don't come it is a part of awareness. Even if people don't buy it is part of the scheme of creating awareness and developing a market. Other artists aren't free to tour on that day so some came the evening before by invitation.

The brochure and the website were both very professional and impressive. I have since made an additional contact for my business due to your website.

The visitors loved the event - we got lots of positive feedback. Many of our members were involved in other venues, either as workers or visitors.

Value for money was embarrassingly good. No amount of display advertising or individual action could have provided the momentum this event provided.

As a result of feedback from last year, some changes have been made. This year, the tour is two days in length. Many visitors wanted an opportunity to tour further afield and most participants felt for their efforts, two days in length gave them a better opportunity to connect with visitors. This also provides an opportunity (for those who choose) to host a reception or invitational event on the Friday or Saturday evening.

If you plan to have any special programming or demonstrations, details can be included on your web page profile. Web profiles will remain online until Dec 31, 2010 to provide contact information for follow up queries. Signage will be improved.

Last year we found that communities which had a number of locations to visit attracted a much higher number of visitors, regardless of whether it was a rural area or a town. You may want to connect with other artists, heritage and cultural organizations in your community to work towards maximum exposure for your area.
